Tara Anderson, L.Ac., FABORM
Tara is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist and Board Certified Fertility Specialist in Oriental Reproductive Medicine. She has had extensive education and post-graduate training in the treatment of infertility and maternity care, and is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM).
Specializing in TCM Gynecology & Obstetrics, Tara treats a wide range of conditions related to reproductive & general health. She commonly treats menstrual irregularities, anovulation, PCOS, endometriosis, recurrent pregnancy loss, IUI and IVF support, elevated FSH, premature ovarian failure/diminished ovarian reserve, male factor infertility, as well as many other conditions impacting a couple's ability to conceive and maintain a successful pregnancy. She works collaboratively with many reproductive endocrinologists, OBGYNs, MDs, midwives, and doulas to provide an integrated approach to each patient's fertility, pregnancy, and reproductive care.
Tara holds a four-year master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, with over 3,500 hours of extensive clinical and theoretical training, and is licensed by the California State Board to practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. With a commitment to professional excellence in the field of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, Tara has had the privilege to study with and complete advance level trainings under several of the most widely respected and renowned teachers, including Dr. Paul Magarelli, Jane Lyttleton, Debra Betts, Sabine Wilms, Randine Lewis, Kiiko Matsumoto, and Dr. Richard Tan.
She also holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). She is a native of San Luis Obispo, CA and currently lives in Santa Cruz, CA with her partner and two children.
